O B J E C T I V E S
To serve the global humanity through my art.
B i o g r a p h i c a l
I am known as `Mak’, which is the abbreviation of my
full name: Muhammad Arsahd Khan. My father’s name is Muhammad Azam
Khan, and I was born on February 16, 1972 in Pontia (Topi, District
Swabi) and grew up in Mohallah Swatian Serai (a labor colony of Pukhtoon
Society) Topi, District Swabi, NWFP. I feel great honored that my town (Topi),
is also the birthplace of Sir Sahibzada Abdul Qayyum Khan (the founder
of Government High School Topi, Islamia College Peshawar and the first
Chief Minister of N.W.F.P). Topi is situated under the shade of Mahaban
Peak, on the left bank of Abasen/Indus River. The river which flows in
the middle of Takhtbai and Taxila, is the remnant of the land called a
symbol of Gandhara and Indus Civilization. From the might of Alexander
the Great and Ashoke, to the construction of one of world’s largest dams
and Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Science and Technology, Topi is a
place of high esteem.
Growing up close to nature, a peasant with a rich historic background in
serene surroundings, enabled me to develop intellectual sensitivity, a
quality that motivated me to aims and aspirations achieved through hard
work; propelling me to greater heights of achievement.

My academic career starts from Government Primary
School Shaheedan Topi, and then Government High School Topi, from where
I obtained my secondary school certificate. After qualifying
intermediate examination my cousin Khalid Zaman took me to Karachi
University in 1993. Here I studied Sociology as a major subject with
great interest, along with Mass Communication as a subsidiary subject,
and Community Development and Urban Sociology as specialized subjects in
Bachelor of Arts (Honors) and in 1997, I earned a Master of Arts.
R e s e a r c h / T h e s i s
I compiled the research thesis work under the title
of “Study Of The Factors Effecting Maternal And Infant Health In Low
Income Groups of Urban” to qualify with a masters degree. My universe
for study was Muzzafar Abad Colony, Landhi Industrial Area, Karachi.
I am grateful to my Alma mater for the academic eligibility and for the
multicultural exposure that it gave me.

I had been drawn to art right from my childhood for
unknown, reasons and with extraordinary abilities. I am highly grateful
to Khalid Zaman who brought me to Karachi. Availing its metropolitan
opportunities, I started my artistic journey as an Actor, Student of
Music at the PACC, and Student Politician at Karachi University. Along
with my academic career, I was a Writer of the Theosophical Society
Karachi, but nothing satisfied my artistic yearnings.
Soon after passing out from Karachi University, and joining TCS I
attained the rare opportunity to become the favorite student of the
world famous, Pride of Performance award winner painter and Ex-Cultural
Attaché Bashir Mirza popularly known as BM. BM started teaching me
drawing and painting from September 1997 till his death on January 5,
2000. During this period he transferred his treasured knowledge of art
and socialization. I have also taken some classes from Madam Nayyer
Jameel and artist Naheed Raza.
Being an artist I am always eager to serve this faculty and the enclosed
list of achievements is the testimony to my devotion.
